Accreditation

North Georgia College & State University is the state’s second oldest university and was the first to admit women. It is one of only six senior military colleges in the United States.

With more than 6,000 students, North Georgia is large enough to provide a wide array of opportunities and activities, but small enough to ensure personal attention from professors and to foster friendships among students.

North Georgia is accredited by the following educational associations:

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees in business and accounting.

Only 643 schools of business, or less than 5% worldwide, have earned this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education.
To achieve accreditation, an institution’s business program must undergo a meticulous internal review and evaluation process, developing and implementing a mission-driven plan to satisfy 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs.

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools

SACS is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.  The Commission’s mission is the enhancement of educational quality throughout the region and it strives to improve the effectiveness of institutions by ensuring that institutions meet standards established by the higher education community that address the needs of society and students.
